From Twins to N-tuples: Nine Bazi Rules for Reading the Charts

Here are nine rules how to read Four pillars of Destiny charts for twins, triples, quadruples etc:

1) If the twins are born in different days (Monday and Tuesday for example), their charts are already different. You shouldn’t use any other rule!

2) If twins are born in different Chinese hours (Wu and Wei hour for example), their charts are already different. You shouldn’t use any other rule!

3) If twins are of different gender, their charts already have different energies. For males Cai represents sexual life, while Guan does it for females. Talents are children for women, while Guan symbolizes children for males. Take into consideration that male and female luck cycles go in different directions. You shouldn’t use any other rule- there already are many differences! The only exception is the rule 6).

4) If first three rules offer a solution for triples or quadruples, you shouldn’t use any other rule -with exception of rule 6) in the case of 3) and the rule 5) on general.

For example:

First female quadruple and first male quadruple are born in Si hour, while second female quadruple and second male quadruple are born in Wu hour. You already get four different energy patterns.

5) Twins, triples, quadruples and n-tuples always have some differences in their energy pattern, because they are stronger in different parts of four pillars. But these differences are not strong enough and if the rules 1) to 4) don’t offer a solution, you have to use some additional rules. Here are strenght location patterns for n-tuples:

6) Twins, triples, quadruples and n-tuples always have some differences in their energy pattern, because of yang-yin relations, too. The first born child is a “leader” and more yang while the next child is more a “follower” and more yin in his/her nature. Yang uses the energy, which is already gathered and yin uses dispersed energy. If the chart is strong, this is bad for the first child (this child will use extremity of the chart, but will still not fall under dominant energy pattern). The second one would have better and more balanced life and the third one even better. In the case of twins the second one will be close to the neutral pattern if the chart is very strong (in the case of triples- this is a third child). If the chart is not so strong, the second child could have a neutral pattern. If the chart is weak first born child would be close to the neutral pattern while the second would be very weak (this child will use extremity of the chart, but will still not fall under follow energy pattern). But if the further rules make energy patterns among the children very different, yang-yin relations rule lose its role.

7) When the births of the male or women twins, triples… fall into the same Chinese hour, check out positions of birth:

7.1 When the time of birth is hour X and all the births fall in the second half of Chinese hour then use the rule of cascade kicking the next one into the next hour:

  • First born: uses X hour
  • Second born: uses X+1 hour
  • Third born: uses X+2 hour…

For example: Triples are born in second half of Chen hour. First born will use Chen hour, but the second one will get Si in his hour pillar. The third one will get Wu in his hour pillar.

7.2 When the time of birth is hour X and the first birth falls in the first half of Chinese hour and the second one falls in the second half of Chinese hour and the first born is closer to the middle of Chinese hour than the second one (or the first and the second one have the same distance from the middle), the first one will kick the second one into the next Chinese hour. First and second born children thus constitute direction and order of progression for the rest of the children. Use the same rule as in 7.1:

  • First born: uses X hour
  • Second born: uses X+1 hour
  • Third born: uses X+2 hour…

7.3 When the time of birth is hour X and the first birth falls in the first half of Chinese hour and the second birth falls in the second half of Chinese hour and the second one is closer to the middle of Chinese hour, the second one will then kick the first one into the previous Chinese hour. First and second born children constitute direction and order of progression for the rest of the children:

  • First born: uses X -1 hour
  • Second born: uses X hour
  • Third born: uses X+1 hour…

7.4 When the time of birth is hour X and the first two births fall in the first half of Chinese hour the second one will kick the first one in the previous Chinese hour just like in the rule 7.3. First and second born children constitute direction and order of progression for the rest of the children:

  • First born: uses X -1 hour
  • Second born: uses X hour
  • Third born: uses X+1 hour…

8) This is an additional rule. When the first child (or first child and the second one…) is born in the first hour, and second one (or third one etc…) in the second hour, the second one (or third one etc…) could not be kicked from the second hour into the first hour, unless the children from the first hour are of the opposite gender.

For example: there are quadruples, male and female from Yin hour, and two males from the first half of the Mao hour. Using rule 7.4 we should move the first one from Mao hour into Yin hour. But Yin hour is already occupied by one male child. Direction and order of progression for the rest of the children are already constituted (first born in the X hour: uses X hour, second born in X+1: uses X+1 hour, third born in X+1 hour uses X+2 hour…)

9) This is an additional rule. When the first child (or the first child and the second one…) is born in the first hour, and next one of the same gender in the same hour, the second can be kicked from the first hour into the second hour by the rules 7.1 and 7.2 even if there is another child of the same gender already present in this second hour. This later child is kicked into the next hour, too. Direction and order of progression for the rest of the children are already constituted:

  • First born in X hour: uses X hour
  • Second born in X hour: uses X+1 hour
  • Third born in X+1 hour: uses X+2 hour…
