MASTER CHOA KOK SUI: A BAZI PROFILE OF A SPIRITUAL MASTER

Grand Master Choa Kok Sui (GMCKS or MCKS) was born as Samson Lim Choachuy on August 15th, 1952, in the Philippines (Cebu City). He was very influential spiritual teacher, healing master and founder of Pranic Healing and Archatic Yoga. He passed away on March, 19th, 2007. Some people claim, that his early death at the age of 54 is the proof,  that his healing method doesn’t work, while many others claim, that he died because he was not able to protect himself from dark pranas of his clients. Such an exhaustion is very common among the practitioners of bioenergetics. Even some Pranic Healing practitioners think, that he has drained his vital energy while helping the others. Other Pranic Healing practitioners go even further and claim, that with his early death was necessary in order to help people from spiritual realm.

Who is right? Who is wrong? From the Bazi aka Four pillars perspective we can find yet another answer, and this is a very different one. Bazi is the old Chinese system of cycle calculation in order to understand one’s Fate or Destiny. It is advocated as a branch of Chinese astrology, but actually it is dealing with calendric cycles and not with positions of the planets.

Bazi birth chart of Grand Master Choa Kok Sui looks like this:

 CHOA KOK SUI BAZI

Wu and Gui combination isn’t possible in the chart with so much water. So, GMCKS’s personal element is Gui or yin water. Yin water has deep emotions, deep thinking, it is mysterious and likes to protect his inner life from the outside world. Shen and Chen branches combine in the water frame.[1] So, Gui and Ren water in the heavens are well rooted in the branches. It is obvious, that his personal element is really strong. From GMCKS’s pillars one can’t determine weather his Gui water is extreme strong regular type or fake dominant water chart, because the data from the hour pillar are missing. Difference between regular strong and dominant chart can be observed in the luck elements of the client.

Each year and decade have their own elemental pattern, based on the cycle of water, wood, fire, earth and metal. When the personal life history is checked, one can determine the luck elements and the type of the chart. GMCKS died in the luck cycle of Gui Chen, which is very lucky for (fake) dominant water chart and very unlucky for exstreme strong regular water chart. The chart of his death day has strong water, too:

 CHOA KOK SUI BAZI- DEATH

It is possible that Hai-Mao wood combination in the month of death is not successful. Wood is still strong in the season of Mao, but Ding Hai is in fanyin clash with personal day pillar. In this death chart water is already very strong (Ren, Gui, Hai, Zi). We have to deal with Ding Hai year pillar and the fanyin clash with personal Gui Si. In this combat fire element is overcame by the water element.  Day branch Zi creates full water frame with personal Shen – Chen. Connection between decade of Chou, Hai year and Zi day form directional union of water.

So, water is very, very strong and even quite strong wood in Mao month of death is not enough to consume so much water. This wood is also too wet to be useful for fire. Here we have another clue that water is unlucky element of GMCKS. Most of his main publications were published in the years of wood and fire. With all this information one can see, that GMCKS is extreme strong regular type of water. Extreme strong regular type means, that close to 80% of the chart is represented by the personal element together with its “parent” element (in the case of GMCKS his parental element is metal as metal enriches water). This is great imbalance, which brings in many troubles in life, specially in the times when unlucky cycles come. Additionally, fire is quite weaker than water in his chart and this is also serious imbalance.

The luckiest element in the chart of GMCKS is fire. This is crucial element for making his chart a little warmer. Wood is lucky, too. Wood, when strong enough, can serve as consumer of water and it also feeds the fire if it is not too wet.

GMCKS was born in the reach business-oriented family of Chinese descent. Father was a Christian and mother was a devoted Buddhist. With unlucky year and month pillar, it would be normally to expect that GMCKS would be born in the poor family. But the pillar of Wu Shen is powerful and Ren Chen is a type of Fui Gong. Additionally, GMCKS pillars are mutually connected with the various influences. Wu stem in the month is earth and is rooted in day branch Si and year branch Chen. Day stem Gui is rooted in the water of Shen and Ren stem of the year is also rooted in the water of Shen branch. Earth of Shen is the element that influences Ren and Gui and wood element in the month stem Wu is influenced by the wood of the year branch Chen. Such interpillar connections strengthen the chart and brings in opportunities for public success. These are strong indications that basic formula is not valid- parents had opportunities to get reach.

It is said, that GMCKS was quite lonely child, preferring books and studying to playmates and outdoor activities. With interconnections of roots between pillars one would expect GMCKS to be very sociable. But he has lonely stars in the day, month and year, so he needed a recluse through all of his life. Perhaps he has no academic stars (even in the hour), but Shen has some metal, which is information for water and Si is mysterious researcher, which could be interested in metaphysics, mysteries and occultism.

He earned a degree in chemical engineering and followed his father’s modern footsteps into business. Chemistry and chemicals are connected with the water element or sometimes with the earth element. In the case of GMCKS there is plenty of water in the chart. In the pillar of Wu Shen there are water and earth together. It is obvious that his decision to study chemical engineering is influenced from the year and specially from the month pillar (month rules the time between 15th and 32th or 33th year of life). This is an indication that parents influenced young GMCKS to choose this study.

It is said that GMCKS was a wealthy and successful businessman. Yes, the reasons are the same as the wealth potential of his parents. Plus- there are some additional indicators- Tianyi, Tiande, Yuede, Ren Chen etc… You can check my list of wealth indicators.  GMCKS had some wealth indicators, so he had potential to became reach. But remember- the birth chart is about potentials of wealth, not about wealth, it is about potentials of glory and not about glory, it is about potentials for spiritual growth and not about mastership. In most cases one must earn his or her name and success. Many people have been born with the same chart as GMCKS, but it seems that most or all of them aren’t (or haven’t been) so successful as GMCKS.

When person is 18 or little bit older, most people in the middle of 20th century have married. What about GMCKS? With so many lonely stars and secrecy of Gui water there is not much information on his personal life. It is said that he had children, the elder daughter Catherine and at least one younger daughter. As the hour pillar is missing from our data, we can’t use Bazi explanation.  The partner element of GMCKS is the fire element and it can be found in the day branch of Si. Day branch is also called a Palace of spouse. Fire is very lucky for GMCKS, so he was quite lucky with his wife. As there is at least partial fire punishment (two branches from Yin-Si-Shen) between Si and Shen, there was also some karmic issues to be cleansed in the partnership (pressures of GMCKS’s parents?). Both Gui and Si are secretive and intimate, so one can not expect much public info about their marriage.

The greatest issue in the life of GMCKS is definitely his spiritual path, his great spiritual advancement and great spiritual knowledge, he had. Even without the data of hour pillar, one can count a lot of spiritual indicators in his life (look at my article on spiritual indicators). There are at least 12 indicators (water day master, a lot of water in the chart, connection between water and fire, Tianyi, Tiande, Yuede, Taiji stars, good roots etc). When the person with 10 or more spiritual indicators is found, such a person has potential to become a spiritual master. Again: potential is not the same as a developed ability. In most cases one must earn his or her name, ability and success. Many people have been born with the same chart as GMCKS, but it seems that most or all of them aren’t (or haven’t been) so successful as GMCKS.

It is said that GMCKS studied Yoga, Kabbalah, Qigong, Crystals, Meditation, Fengshui etc. for 40 years. With all of his chart spiritual, it is normally to expect, that GMCKS would study at least some of these approaches all over his life. He developed Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga. I have already researched connections between five elements and chakras, and my results are very simmilar to the system, used by GMCKS. Day pillar rules one’s life between 33rd and 50th year. In the case of GMCKS this is branch Si or Snake, which rules the years between 1985 and 2002. Snake fire of Si represents his money, Feng shui, pranic and occult studies.  Between 1980 and 2007 there are some balanced or lucky years for GMCKS (i.e.: years with stronger wood or fire):

1987, 1988, 1990 (slowly declining energy in 1991 and 1992), 1995 (with slowly declining energy in 1996), 1999 and 2000. These years correlates with GMCKS’s most important events and publications.

In 1987, which was the year of Bing Yin with the wood and strong fire, GMCKS published his first book on basic Pranic Healing, “The Ancient Science and Art of Pranic Healing,” later released as “Miracles Through Pranic Healing.” It is said that GMCKS started to synthesize his knowledge from 1983 to 1987. It is possible, that he deliberately waited to the year 1987, because Bazi studies are also part of Fengshui knowledge and he was probably familiar with calculations.

1988 was the year of Ding Mao, again the year of stronger fire over the wood. Mao is also academic star. This year was good for anything connected with studies and spirituality. In the year of 1988 GMCKS has founded “Institute for Inner Studies” to serve the Western hemisphere.

Two years later, in 1990, he founded “World Pranic Healing Foundation” to serve the developing countries. This was the year of Ji Si, and there is his fire Si in the branch of that year. As mentioned before, Si is GMCKS’s substitute for Academic star. So, there we have another organization for spiritual studies.  The branch of Si is connected with psychology and spirituality, among others.[2] The chart of GMCKS is full of water, which is the element of psychology, and together with Si branch and GMCKS’s spiritual potentials, it is no major surprise that he published the book “Pranic Psychotherapy” in this year.

It is said that the book “Advanced Pranic Healing” was published in the year 1992. Advanced Pranic Healing is the matter, which fills the gap between Basic Pranic Healing and Pranic Psychotherapy. It seems, that GMCKS created large part of his book in the years of 1990 and 1991, but it was finished and published in the year of 1992. Year of 1992 is probably nothing special in the energy pattern of his chart. It is about Xin Wei year. Or perhaps this year is connected with the hour pillar and still has some value?

In 1996 he published “Pranic Crystal Healing”. This is the Yi Hai year and has wood in the stem. Crystal between practitioner and the client is between two pranic systems. In the same way, fire Nayin element is between Yi stem and Hai branch. Fire is positive element for GMCKS. Crystal is ordinary viewed as earth element, but crystals for healing are conic and have the nature of the fire element, too.

The last lucky years are 1999 (partially) and 2000. 1999 is the year Wu Yin and is a little tricky year. Yin is lucky element of wood, but together with Si and Shen it forms full penalty of fire. Penalties deal with karma, karmic punishment or karmic reward and with hidden matters. As the fire is lucky element of GMCKS, we can expect some karmic reward, but there can also be some issues at the same time. For spiritual teacher it is time to think about karma of visible and invisible world. GMCKS published the book “Psychic Self-defense”. Entities and elementals are invisible, hidden matters and they are often connected with karma.

In 2000 he published “Meditations for Soul Realization”. This was the year of Ji Mao. Mao is wood element and his Academic star. Wood is the way between water and fire and this book is the way between material life and soul realization. Perhaps the hour pillar could reveal ore info abut this year and this publication. After 2002 there is no influence of Si in the chart of GMCKS. Pranic healing and Archatic yoga are children of his Si branch (1985-2002).

GMCKS has written many more spiritual books, but the books, mentioned above, are crucial books of Pranic Healing. Gui and Si love secrets and mysteries and GMCKS has followed these influences. The spiritual teachings are revealed step by step. In order to learn from the system of GMCKS, you have to deal with basic courses in Pranic Healing., for example. And Archatic yoga is thought in secrecy even today- there is no book published on that matter.

The last info of GMCKS is about his death on March, 19th, 2007. It is said that he died of pneumonia. There are some charlatans among Bazi practitioners, who claim that they can determine the time of death. This is impossible. Natal chart is about main energetical patterns and about main potentials. No one knows if someone would activate his or her potentials, what kind of food will one eat, how many medications one will take, what kind of karma will be gathered in one’s life etc. All these make us different. But it is true, that illness and death “prefer” unlucky cycles to lucky cycles.

As mentioned above, GMCKS’s chart is very imbalanced. People with such a chart have problems in life. GMCKS has indicators, that these problems would not be of business or spiritual nature. One should also not expect major issues in partnerships (but there could be some of them because of karmic cleansing between Si and Shen). So, the remaining area is health. Health is a weakest point of GMCKS. His body’s constitution is too weak. As a general rule Gui Si day pillar can easily become ill[3]. Gui Si pillar and Si- Shen penalty indicates probable problems with heart and blood. Wu Shen and Ren Chen expose metabolism. Ren Chen in the year pillar can be connected with head issues. Too many “friends” (water elements) can bring infections. Too many water elements indicate bones, urinary bladder, kidneys… At first sight there is no clear indication for the problems with pneumonia.

But there is connected story of chest and lungs in this chart. Originally, Shen is metal element and it sits in the basic area of lungs and large intestine (metal), i.e. in the month branch. For the connections between the stems, branches, illness and locations of the body please read my article about Bazi and health. In the Shen branch of GMCKS one can find Death star. Death star in the unfavorable element could show health problems of the family member. But in the case of GMCKS things are not so straightforward.

Shen- lungs- are connected with the year branch Chen (water combination between Chen and Shen). In Chen, GMCKS has an Illness star. And there is also penalty between Shen and Si. Shen and Si sits in the lung area and at the same time they are represented as heartache or any (!) pain in the chest. Month Wu stem is also in the location of lungs and chest is also represented by Wu stem. And at last- lungs are also represented by the seal element. In this case this is metal element of Shen, which is also connected to lungs, as already mentioned.

Shen branch is connected with lungs and metal and in the case of this chart at the same time represents water. So, in the chart of GMCKS lungs are connected with the element of water, too. The period Ren Zi (1990-2000) makes full water frame between Shen, Zi and Chen. Lungs are already exposed. In the period of Gui Chou (2000-2010) this Gui is another transformation star for strengthening the illness and death pattern between Chen and Shen. The year of death is Ding Hai. Ding Hai is in total clash (fanyin) with personal Gui Si. Fire as the vital element of this chart is destroyed in this clash. Si is also connected with Shen and represents lung. As fire penalty it can also add fever or inflammation. We get the situation on the day of death.  Day of death has Zi branch, making water too strong, exposing lung problem. The water is not strong only in the chart of death, but it also become stronger in personal chart (Zi connects Shen and Chen) and in connection of luckiness: Hai year, Zi day and decade of Chou form directional union of water. The wood in this structure is too weak to help release water. In this day, GMCKS departed his body.

Imbalanced charts with 20 or 30 years of “bad” luck are inclined to injuries, illness or even death. Situation is extremely dangerous for the radical imbalances like in the case of extreme strong regular chart. The chart of GMCKS is one of such charts and it has serious additional imbalances, too (Death star and Illness star, too cold chart, Gui Si day pillar). In his case the first five cycles of luck are bad, but perhaps there are some positive influences in the years 1970-1980. However- there are extremely bad cycles in the age of 1980-2010. The positive Si branch is too weak to prevent degradation of vital energy. The length of one’s life is relative according to the heaviness of one’s Destiny. 50 years with hard health destiny may have greater pounder than 100 years of easy health destiny. One could expect that most people with the chart like GMCKS would die in the period of 1980-2000. It is very hard to survive 20 years of such devastating energies. GMCKS died in 2007. His prolonged life is due to his practice of Pranic healing and Archatic yoga, I guess. If Choa Kok Sui would stayed alive till 2010, he would enter 20 years of big luckiness and would probably live a much longer life. These periods are Jia Yin and Yi Mao, they are full of wood elements. And wood can support the lonely Si branch and its fire element, the vital force of GMCKS’s life power.

Footnotes:

[1] Normally, such combination demands presence of Zi branch or at least Gui stem in the heavens. We have Gui stem in the day pillar, but day pillar is a weak transformation star. However, Zi is not substituted only by Gui, but partially also in Ren. This stem is present in the year pillar. So, we get water combination between Shen and Chen.

[2] Occupations, connected with Si branch could be: Researching mysteries, materialistic professions,  proffessions which serves ambitions, jewelry, commerce, money, public relations, economy, business, traveling, transport, catering, advertising, politics, lawyer, researcher, selling ideas, psychology, sociology, spirituality, astrology, archeology, music, painting, color, design, fashion, music. There are some other proposals, too.

[3] Gui Si pillar is connected to: chronic sickness, reproductive organs, eyes, heart, blood, possible high blood pressure (if other signs), possibility of alcohol problems. If Gui Si is the day pillar, person can become more ill.
